We inform you that on December sixteenth, two thousand twenty-one, the Governmental Agreement Number 278-2021 was published in Centroamérica Gazette, and will become effective on January first, two thousand twenty-two.

Said Governmental Agreement establishes that the minimum wage must be fixed periodically as determined by law, and taking into account the modalities of each job, the particular conditions of each region, and the employer’s possibilities in each intellectual, industrial, commercial, livestock, or agricultural activity. This agreement also takes into account whether the wages are paid per unit of time, per unit of work, or by participation in the profits, sales, or collections made by the employer, and must be adopted by necessary measures so that the workers who earn per piece, task, lump sum or piecework, harmed. So they are redefined as follows:

It’s necessary to emphasize that workers must always be paid the Incentive Bonus, set at Q.250.00 regulated in Decree Number 78-89 of the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, Art. 7, which must be added to the Minimum Monthly Salary.
