The period given to renew advertising elements for the year 2023, begins as of the 1st of October and has as last date for renewal December 31st, 2022, according to article 58 of the Ordinance Regulating Advertising Elements of the Municipality of San Salvador. This process is to be carried out before the Municipal Mayor’s Office of San Salvador.
To renew advertising elements, all obligations before the Municipality of San Salvador, have to be fully paid, and the renewing party must be solvent. In addition, the current permit for each advertising element for which authorization has been requested at the time of installation is required, as well as payment of the assigned fee that was established according to the characteristics of the advertising element at the time of authorization.
Any advertising element that is visible in the public space must have its respective permit. The process of renewal of the permit for the advertising element must be carried out in time, otherwise, the sanctions established in articles 68, 69 and 70 of the Ordinance above-mentioned will apply.
In addition, the Ordinance clarifies that any Advertising Element of which the installation authorization process has not been carried out, the municipality will have the power to order its uninstallation, in addition to imposing any other applicable sanction due to this non-compliance.
