The Department of Regulation and Control of Pharmaceutical and Related Products of Guatemala has published the User’s Guide for the SIDEAS platform, which addresses the procedures for user registration, security, and administration of managers.
The Integral System of Sanitary Authorization Services -SIDEAS- platform is intended to allow users to manage everything related to the regulation and control of pharmaceuticals and related products.
User Registration
To carry out procedures through the SIDEAS Platform (https://sideas.mspas.gob.gt/sideas/ ), the user must first register in the system, there are users of type: A) Company B) Natural Person.
A Natural Person user can also enable the Individual Company option, to use the profile both as a natural person and as a company. It is important to validate the data entered, as this provides specific functions within the platform.
The data requested for registration are:
Tax Identification Number -NIT-.
DPI Number
Telephone
E-mail address
Profession
Human Resources Registration, if applicable
Active membership number, if applicable
Security
The site will send to the registered email the user and temporary password, once the system will request a password change for security reasons.
The user can access his/her profile, consult and modify his/her own data within the SIDEAS Platform. Individuals may modify the following data: Telephone, e-mail, human resources registration number, active member number and profession. Companies will only be able to modify: telephone and e-mail.
Manager Administration
Within SIDEAS, a manager is any user of type Natural Person who carries out procedures for another user of type Company or Individual Company. Companies can add or delete managers.
To add a manager within a company, he/she must have previously created his/her profile within the SIDEAS platform as a Natural Person. To be added, only the active member number or Tax Identification Number (Número de Identificación Tributaria -NIT) must be entered in the search engine through the Company user.
This generates an e-mail to the manager, notifying him/her that he/she has been added as a manager to the company so that he/she can accept or reject the request.
Managers must be assigned a role within the company, as shown below:
Director or Technical Manager: the company must have a manager with a role.
Legal Representatives: may have several managers with the role.
Responsible Professional: may have several managers with the role.
Generic User: can have several managers with the role.
Consideration procedures
The company will only be able to carry out procedures if it has a Technical Manager.
Both companies and managers will be able to pay fees according to the corresponding procedure. However, the companies will not be able to initiate the procedures, only the managers will be able to do so.
The Company type user and the Legal Representative user can visualize the procedures carried out by the Technical Director and his associated Responsible Professionals.
The users, Technical Director and Responsible Professional will only be able to visualize the procedures carried out for the company.
A Natural Person user can perform different procedures for different companies.
It is possible to disassociate a manager from the platform, but the manager’s role must be taken into account:
If you disassociate a manager with the role of Technical Director, the system will notify you that you must associate with a new Technical Director, otherwise, no manager will be able to carry out any procedure on behalf of the company.
When a process has been initiated and is still in process, the manager who has initiated the process CANNOT be disassociated until the process is completed, either with approval or rejection”.
