We inform you that the President of the Republic recently announced the creation of an entity that will deal with the health effects caused by COVID19, this will be done through a commission created by the Executive, which will have the name "National Commission against coronavirus" and in this way to be able to better deal with the pandemic in the country, making studies and predictions of the behavior of the disease, its rates and forms of transmission and contagion, evaluating and recommending actions to be implemented.
Said commission, according to information compiled by the media, in the words of President Giammattei, will be chaired by a renowned Guatemalan doctor, Edwin J. Asturias, making his designation and appointment official in the coming days; Likewise, the President explained that the Guatemalan doctor already accepted to collaborate with his experience in the fight against Covid-19, having as background his experience in pediatric care and epidemiology at the School of Medicine of the University of Colorado, United States, and who In addition, it has closely followed the behavior of the epidemic in other countries and has issued recommendations on how to treat governments.
