By means of Decree No. 56-2019 published in La Gaceta No. 35,180, of February 20, 2020, the Law of the Heroic and Meritorious Fire Department of Honduras has been created. It is important to note that one of the most important aspects of this new regulation is:
• The natural or legal persons constructing buildings, urbanizations and subdivisions must submit to the Fire Department the corresponding plans according to the specifications of the project and the general fire-fighting system (Hydrants, Cabinets, Sprinklers, Fire Extinguishers, etc.) ( Article 68).
• If the Fire Department, when inspecting ex officio or at the request of a party, all kinds of existing buildings and new constructions, finds danger of conflagration or accident, it must grant a period of up to ninety (90) days, exceptionally extendable up to 30 more days to that the deficiencies found be corrected and the dangers eliminated (Article 69).
The mandatory provisions issued by the Fire Department must be in accordance with the reality of the Country, reviewed and agreed with the main actors of the technical disciplines that these provisions involve.
