The deadline in Guatemala to have an Environmental License expires on September 27, 2024, which is applicable to any project, work, industry or activity in the country.
Government agreement 137-2016 of the Environmental Assessment, Control and Monitoring Regulation establishes corrective and predictive instruments to enforce the regulations, therefore, convenient reforms have been approved, related to the regularization process, sanctions in case of non-compliance, definitions for the process of obtaining an environmental license.
