In 2016, the Environmental Evaluation, Control and Monitoring Regulations came into force, which aims to develop the necessary guidelines to support the country's sustainable development on the subject.

This Regulation would initially come into force as of July 11, 2016, however, its mandatory nature was extended until January 3, 2020.

Failure to comply with this legislation could result in a fine between Q 5,000.00 and Q 100,000.00 or even the definitive closure of the company's operations.

Accompanying the Guatemalan legal team was the expert consultant, Gamaliel Martínez, who spoke about the Environmental Regulations, the categories of business activities according to impact, and the technical requirements for proposals before MARN.

The LatinAlliance team of lawyers is supporting an important group of companies, in advising, managing and obtaining the License in order to comply with the legal regulatory framework and prevent any sanction that could affect their operations.
