FOMILENIO II signed a contract to promote electronic signatures in El Salvador, for which it will contribute $1.5 million. The implementation of the electronic signature is scheduled to come into operation during the first half of 2020.

In 2016, the Electronic Signature Law came into force, which, due to lack of financing, was not implemented in the country.

What is the electronic signature? La Electronic signature is a legal concept, electronically equivalent to that of company handwritten, where a person accepts the content of an electronic message through any valid electronic means.

According to La Prensa Gráfica, the funds that FOMILENIO II will contribute will be used for three components: personnel training and equipment purchase, construction of two data centers and the hiring of two consultancies, which will be carried out by the consulting company Bit4ID Ibérica SL.
