Marlene Tobar is an economist by profession. She served for more than six years as Economic Superintendent of the Competition Superintendence of El Salvador. During this time, she was in charge of reviewing some of the most relevant mergers that took place in El Salvador.

Subsequently, she served as Executive Director of the Regulatory Improvement Entity of El Salvador and was part of the technical team of the Central Reserve Bank.

In her private practice, Marlene has experience in competition advice for the filing of merger applications, market research and identification of economic efficiencies.
