Marlene Tobar is an economist by profession. She served for more than six years as Economic Intendant of the Superintendence of Competition in El Salvador. During this time, she was in charge of reviewing some of the most relevant mergers that took place in El Salvador.
Subsequently, she served as Executive Director of the Regulatory Improvement Agency of El Salvador and was part of the technical team of the Central Reserve Bank.
In her private practice, Marlene has experience in competition counseling for the filing of merger applications, market research studies, and identification of economic efficiencies.
