New arrivals – June 19, 2019

Around 44 NGOs will benefit thanks to the legal advice program in which LatinAlliance will be participating together with the organization Desarrollo en Movimiento in the period from July 1 to November 30.

The program is focused on providing legal advice on legal solutions for the different problems presented by the NGOs that are part of the Asociación Desarrollo en Movimiento.

Some of the topics that will be handled are:

  1. Corporate Advice: Mandatory legal documentation for NGOs or Non-Profit Associations, advice for the appointment of the Legal Representative or its renewal; advice for modifications to the statuses before the Ministry of the Interior, among others.
  2. Advice on Labor Matters: Advice for the preparation of employment contracts, advice for labor conflicts and termination of contracts, rights and obligations of workers, special cases in situations of pregnant or lactating workers, calls for attention to workers , unjustified absences, cases of suspension of the employment contract, among others.
  3.  Advice for Trademark Registration: What is a trademark, where a trademark must be registered, classes of international trademarks, rights granted with the registration of the trademark, advice for the corresponding procedure before the Intellectual Property Registry of Guatemala, etc.
  4. Notarial Advice: Advice for the execution of various types of contracts that are necessary in organizations, such as service contracts, distribution contracts, leases, sales of real estate, lines of credit, etc.
  5. Judicial and Extrajudicial Advice: Advice for the recovery of pending payments, portfolios in arrears, as well as advice in case of judicial proceedings already initiated on various matters.”
